Half Term Halloween Computing Club
Time & Location
About The Event
Come and make your own haunted house with interactive lights and sounds, or make your own scary spinning ghost or even make your own ghost train.
This half term we are running a Halloween special computing club with activities ranging from programming in Minecraft and Sonic Pi to create haunting soundscapes to make and controlling electronics. We will look at how we can combine our games of Minecraft with physical lights and controls.
Other activities include making an app, programming your own embroidery to be stitched at the club, VR, robots and drones, using micro-controllers, microbits, arduinos. Raspberry Pis. Come along and learn some new skills and develop existing ones.
The club provides 8 to 14 year olds the opportunity to develop those technology skills that are going to be so important in the future. At the club we will be building skills and confidence in many different technologies including learning to program using Minecraft, programming Drones and robots, looking at physical electronics and computing to create a creation and writing music through code.
From these basics your children will open up access to a huge range of technology opportunities as well as developing their creativity and problem solving skills.
No experience required! Tasks are developed with different abilities in mind and aim to push those who are familiar and confident with the technology whilst guiding those who need a little more support.
